A .DE web address can be renewed at any time prior to its expiration. A .DE web address will expire on the 5th last day of the month due to expire. For example if yourdomain.de is registered on January 1 2011 then the expiry date becomes January 27 2012 as the 5th last day of January 2012 is January 27. .DE addresses should be renewed prior to their expiry date. Otherwise:
- You will no longer be able to manage your .DE domain name with us
- Your .de domain name will be transferred directly under the .DE Registry (DENIC) and you will receive instructions from DENIC for managing your domain name with them.

If you already own a .DE web address with another provider and wish to 'move' your address to our system then this process is known as a transfer. In order to transfer a .DE address to us you will need to obtain the EPP (also known as secret or authorisation) code from your current provider.
